Privacy policy

This policy covers the NOMAE website at nomae.com.au and account and social features in the NOMAE app. NOMAE is based in Brisbane, Australia. Contact us at [email protected] for privacy questions or requests.

Information handled by this website

The website displays development information and offers an optional email-updates signup. It does not offer customer accounts, checkout, payments or workout-data uploads, and it does not ask you to provide health information.

When you visit, the hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, requested URLs, browser information and request times to deliver the website, protect it and diagnose problems.

NOMAE app accounts and social features

The core workout and tracker features are designed to work locally on your device without an account. If you choose to sign in, Firebase Authentication processes the identity information needed to authenticate you. Depending on the provider you choose, Google or Apple also processes the sign-in request under its own privacy terms.

NOMAE's account and social API uses Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1. It may store your account identifier, username, display name, optional avatar reference, friend relationships and requests, blocks, private competition memberships and explicit competition check-ins. NOMAE does not store your Google or Apple password. Workout sessions, routines and tracker movement traces are not uploaded to this social database by the current app.

Account and social data is used to provide sign-in, profiles, friends, blocks and private competition features, prevent abuse, and operate and secure the service. Technical request information may be processed by Firebase, Google, Apple and Cloudflare as necessary to provide and secure those services.

Email updates

If you choose to sign up for NOMAE email updates, we collect the email address you provide and information needed to manage your subscription. We use it to send development, testing, availability and launch updates about NOMAE. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.

Email subscriptions are provided using EmailOctopus, operated by Three Hearts Digital Ltd. EmailOctopus processes subscriber information and technical information needed to operate the signup form and deliver emails. Depending on campaign settings, it may also process delivery, open and link-click activity so we can understand whether emails are reaching subscribers and are useful. Signing up for email updates does not create an order, reservation or guarantee product availability. We do not sell subscriber information or use the NOMAE mailing list for unrelated third-party advertising.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. We use this to respond and manage the enquiry. Please do not send payment card details, passwords or sensitive health information. Our public inbox uses Google Gmail; Google processes messages as the email service provider. Emailing an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Email updates require the separate signup described above.

Cookies, storage and external links

The main NOMAE site does not use advertising pixels or visitor analytics scripts. The embedded EmailOctopus signup may use technical storage or anti-abuse measures required to operate and protect the form. Fonts and product images are otherwise served with the website. There is no embedded social feed. Links to social networks and other external sites take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.

Access, sharing and overseas processing

Information is handled by people managing NOMAE and the hosting, email and mailing-list providers needed to operate these services. We do not sell enquiry or subscriber information or use it for targeted third-party advertising. We may disclose information where required by law.

Google and service providers used to host or deliver email may operate internationally. EmailOctopus states that contact-list data is stored on AWS servers in Ireland and may be processed by its service providers in other locations. This means information may be processed outside Australia.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your NOMAE account from within the app when account features are available, or contact [email protected]. Deleting an account removes the active NOMAE social profile and associated social records subject to technical, security and legal retention requirements. Information held independently by Google or Apple is governed by those providers.

Security and retention

We limit access to enquiries and subscriber information to those who need it to operate NOMAE communications. No internet transmission or storage is completely secure. Enquiries are kept while needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Mailing-list information is kept while you remain subscribed or while it is reasonably needed to maintain suppression/unsubscribe records and comply with legal or service requirements. Service providers may retain technical logs and backups under their own schedules.

Your choices and complaints

You can browse without joining the mailing list. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email. You can also email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have provided, or to make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity and may need to retain records required by law. We aim to respond within 30 days. If unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which can explain whether the matter is within its jurisdiction.

Changes

We will update this policy if the website or app begins handling materially different information, such as payments, cloud workout storage or additional analytics, and display the revised date here.
